You and whose army?
10 June 2009
A modern fast reliable network is needed for our rural area as much as anywhere; but you know we'll need an army to get one.
Broadband investment is a vast undertaking. Communities that have managed this upgrade themselves signed up over 90% households. That is quite an army.
The numbers are very important, we need the political and financial sway. We hope to engage people not just to agree with us but to also carry the torch and enthuse the people around them.
We can only get the ball rolling, your rural county needs you (and your army.)
Survey and a public appearance
13th May 2009
We have an online survey. Please fill it in, the information uncovered will guide this project.
To meet people face to face and ask for the completion of surveys we will be present on a stall on Monday 25th May of the Big Green Weekend.
More about the model for this project

Consultation strategies to be developed
25th March 2009
How will 'Our Net' reach and properly inform a very large proportion of households? Following the model developed in the Netherlands existing groups are to be approached. During the prefeasibility study we are sketching out who we think these groups are and how we might engage them in the upgrade of communications network. We know there are formal networks of people and informal groups of practice. We want to keep breaking this down until we have a picture of who there is to reach and what they may be concerned with. If we can't sit down and have a intelligent conversation about the subject one-to-one over a cup of tea, what is the next best thing? Indeed, do we have something interesting enough to engage someone in conversation intelligent or otherwise?
Pre-feasibility starts
