Project outline
Aims
A pre-feasibility study for Community Owned Next Generation Access for the Calder Valley including:
- A brief for the feasibility study including:
- technical project scope
- outline of specific demographics characteristics of the area
- tested routes for showing demand and engaging people in the project
- Potential funders for the feasibility study
- Funding calendar
- Funding applications / template funding applications
Project Plan
This project is divided into three phases.
Phase one: Data gathering
By end March
Funding stream research- existing known sources (Leader, etch)
- funder finder research
- mapping area
- demographics
- networks and groups list
- technical scope outline
- potential partners and sub-contractors
Produce list of funders' requirements and calendars, sift funders.
Phase two: Community involvement
By end May
Demonstration of local demand, enthusiasm, ownership and involvement is necessary for the project to be viewed as realistic by potential funders (even to fund the feasibility study). The degree to which this is required, however, should come out of phase two and this part of the project should be reviewed in the light of phase 1.
Identify one or two routes to specific groups
Develop materials and initiate dialogue
Answer questions:
Engagement
- How easy is it to engage people in the Calder Valley?
- Are there specific strategies that need to be employed?
Ownership:
- What percentage of people can see the benefits after explanation? (NB is it worth doing a before and after study?)
- How likely is it that people would swap from existing providers to community provision?
Phase three: Scope feasibility study
By end August
From the data gathered:- Determine the work required in the Feasibility Study to get people to engage and own the project
- Assimilate any other requirements by funders - work with partners or signposting answers may be required
- Produce template funding applications
- Apply for any funding within calendar
